
Within the last year, the mobile phone subscriptions has reached 5.9billion. This is a pretty amazing figure when compared with the total population of the world using the Internet, 7 billion.
The statistical figures are shown above. This survey has been carried out by the ITU (International Telecommunications Union). The ITU also found out an amazing fact. That is, out of all the mobile users 79% are from the developing countries.
It was also calculated that mobile broadband users are almost 1.2 billion. This is a 48% growth when compared with the last year.
Although a lot of nations have kicked out the 2G network, the report shows that the ratio for using 2G to 3G is 2 is to 1.
Korea is on the top of the list for countries delivering the fastest mobile broadband services (upto 10mbps). USA has been able to win the 6th place down the line.
