Starting from May 16, USPS might not accept shipments of gadgets containing Lithium-ion batteries which are destined for overseas locations. The problem is, most of the latest gadgets like laptops, smartphones, tablets and cameras now contain lithium-ion batteries!
According to USPS, if you did not handle these batteries in the proper way, (like fully charging or not correctly storing) they might catch fire. They say that these batteries have caused two fatal cargo plane crashes since 2006.
Normally, USPS is the cheapest way to send a package outside the borders of US. But, from the services I have used, it’s the slowest! You can always use something like DHL and FedEX which are faster and have better quality service. But they are very expensive!
