David Tavares have just announced the availability of Pear Linux 5. This is a growing Linux distribution based on Ubuntu. A Linux distribution which wants to become a Mac OS!
By using the latest Gnome Shell and modifying it a bit, Pear Linux have made something very similar to a real Mac. The latest version of Pear Linux brings a new Appstore which allows you to install software in just one click. The Appstore also support parallel downloading, resuming of downloads, updates notifier, and cache cleaning. Normally, Linux can install only 1 app at a time.
It also contains a new improved launchpad which will allow you to browse through the installed apps by just swiping in your trackpad. This and many other changes have been added to this new release. If you want to check them, download it!
