Introducing a bit Stable CyanogenMod 10 ‘M’ Builds!

Cyanogenmod 10

Still CyanogenMod 10 is in the nightly stage. I don’t think they are going to move into a release candidate soon. But, in order to give the user a more stable ROM than the nightly, they are going to introduce ‘M’ builds which are more stable than nightlies and will be released at the beginning of each month. At the beginning of each month? That means CM 10 stable won’t be release for several months? I have no idea…

‘M’ stands for… No one knows… Even Cyanogen doesn’t have a proper definition for ‘M’ :

We aren’t exactly sure what M stands for. “Monthly”, “milestone”, or perhaps “MINE ALL MINE!”. Whatever it is, I hope that we are meeting the needs of community.

Apart from giving the user a more stable ROM, they also have another idea on their minds. CyanogenMod is an open source project so anyone can release un-official builds of CM. But according to the team, some of those un-official builds lack the quality that they want. So, they want us to go for the ‘M’ builds rather than trying the alternatives. Personally, I also like CM because of their quality and the simplicity. I have tried several other ROMs but finally settled with CM. But this is clearly a … “MINE ALL MINE!” scenario!
